5 Ways to Recycle and Save Money with Kids

One of the best ways to keep from throwing cash in the trash is to find new uses for items that you might normally throw away.
- Re-use baby food jars for storing and sorting nails, screws, tacks, or office supplies.
- Re-use baby wipe tubs for small toys, drawer organizers for socks, or a computer disc or thumb drive holder, etc..
- Baby formula cans are great for dozens of things like storage of small toys and sand castle molds. I have also used mine for lifts and levels under a buffet table cloth.
- Save cardboard boxes for re-shipping gifts, making cars, forts, and other various pretend toys. You can also cover boxes with colored contact paper and make giant stacking blocks.
- Make a sand-box scoop out of an empty ½ gallon milk jug with a handle. Just cut the bottom half off and put the cap back on and there you go. Scoop away. This also makes a great dog-food scoop.
Re-Claim your throw-aways and Re-claim the JOY!
